Losing my Rocko-cat left a big hole in our hearts--a three kitten hole, it seems. We brought in Vash not knowing he had siblings. As Vash recovered and became more kitten like, it became apparent to the foster org that the kittens he arrived with really were his littermates. Last Wednesday we went to meet them, and just like with Vash, we fell in love. It was clear that they needed the chance to get the kind of love Vash got, only then would they come out of their shells and trust humans again.

Ichigo is Vash's brother, and just as sweet as he is. We decided not to name the poor thing Knives, so we went with common voice actors instead of manga siblings. All he wants to do is rub on you. He's rather protective of his sister, but still so gentle. He wants Abner to love him back, but that's going to take a bit of time.

Rukia is my new tortie-girl! Oh how I've missed the sass. She was very shy. It took me over an hour crawling under furniture at the rescue to even get her to let me touch her. I thought we'd have a hard time getting her used to life here, but she surprised us. She is so very sweet, and adventurous, as long as Ichi or Vash are nearby. She's also turning into quite the cuddle-bug.

Abner is not thrilled, but he's adapting and finally letting the kittens get near him.

The house is in a lovely form of chaos. They've brought so much joy and healing to our family! They've got a big job ahead of them, promoting all the books.
